"It's important to remember that feminism is no longer a group of organizations or leaders. It's the expectations that parents have for their daughters, and their sons, too. It's the way we talk about and treat one another. It's who makes the money and who makes the compromises and who makes the dinner. It's a state of mind. It's the way we live now."

Finally, Back On My Blog
It's been a while. I hope my blog is as forgiving as all of you out there that have been emailing me over the past month to no avail. No, I have not dropped off the face of the planet. I'm just busy, like everyone else. If you really wanted to keep up with whatever the hell I am at, you could always be checkin' in on The Standard, which I am writing for pretty much every other day. Or how about China Access 2008, or the more recently initiated WorkSpace blog over at Bill MacEwan's new and soon-to-be thriving WorkSpace. Which brings me to why my poor megsjargon has been oh-so-neglected: I have a new job. Yes, it's now officially 7 weeks in, but in the grand scheme of things, it's still pretty new. I'm still in that need-to-get-back-on-the-computer-and-do-more-online-stuff stage at most free moments I can find. And who am I kidding? Look at what I'm doing now. I take pleasure writing and thinking aloud here, but this outlet has largely turned into a work-related scheme, or that's the goal anyhow… Hey, wait a sec, is this the part where I think aloud, "I hope that one day my work actually isn't "work" at all and becomes something I WANT and CHOOSE to do every day"? Hmmmmm. Aha. We're onto something here.
Raincity Pilot
Working away in the quiet early hours here at Raincity. Gettin stuff done. Lookin out the window over the city from the 5th floor, watching the sun slowly creep into the day, trying to bust its' way through those low-lying coastal clouds, all as I try to find words for site content and blogs and the like…. and lo' and behold! Our official Raincity Pilot strolls in for a little mid-mornin visit with sushi for breaky: how Vancouver. So why not capture this moment on film? Afterall, it's not every day you get a pilot hangin out in your office.

Jess et moi reunite and talk “extremekindness”
My dear ol' pal from those Ryerson days in broadcasting popped into town for a quick 24-hour turn-around and we caught up and hung out a wee bit here at Kits beach in the early morning sunshine glory of Vangroovy. Jessica is the director of development for Ellis Entertainment in Toronto and came out to Victoria to meet and shoot some footage of the four great lads from Extreme Kindness as part of the development of a new project that is going to be an absolute rockstar success:
a. because this concept and these guys are just far too awesome to pass up, and
b. anything that sweet Jess touches turns to gold – she's a star!!

2006 Goal List
Blah-blah-blahing about marathons, weather, raincity website
I took a little timeout today to scoot down and pick up my marathon package… I haven't quite figured out how to multitask in the streets – that whole talkin and filmin thing is really, really tough.

Funny thing was: got to the event and package pick-up doesn't start until 5pm this evening: keener:)

Day Seven Of Concussed State.
Status:
400mgs Ibuprofen every 4 hours.
Outstanding Improvements Over The Past 48 Hours.
Thankfully and Finally Out & About….
While I still hold out hope that my health and head will be in perfect form and shape to run the Vancouver Marathon in May, I joined the masses, along with my talented sidekick, kk, for inspiration and admiration at the Vancouver Sun Run, as these athletes did their thing in the glorious Vangroovy morning sunshine.
Concussed Day Five
I am finally feeling a tad more Megan-esque today and able to write and stare at this screen for a bit to compose. Awoke with a dull version of the roaring headache I have felt in days past – a great thing. Saw another doc yesterday: all is well and will be with the head. Now I am just dealing with whiplash symptoms. I'm young, fit, healthy and will bounce back in no time now. And I do have lovely and supportive friends that have all been checking in on me and stopping by continuously to help out, cook, hang out, bring me flowers, walk me around the block… I am well looked after indeed. And I think that vacant look in my eyes is starting to subside. The best news I've heard in days: I won my hockey pool. Things are turning around.
